About
Small on purpose.
STRUCTD is an engineering practice, not an agency. The person you talk to is the person who writes the code.
The name is short for structured data, which is most of what the work turns out to be. Whatever a client describes at the start — a model, an app, a migration — the underlying problem is usually that information they already own is trapped in a form nobody can use.
The practice is deliberately small. There is no bench to keep busy, no layer of account management, and no incentive to extend a project past the point of usefulness. That constrains how much work we take at once, and it is the constraint we would choose again.
Engagements are scoped and priced up front. The riskiest part gets built first. Everything is handed over in your repository and your cloud account, with documentation written for whoever inherits it.
Who you work with

Jorge Rodriguez
Founder & principal engineer
Jorge spent his career inside the organisations that set the standard for how cloud infrastructure is supposed to run — most recently at Google, and before that in enterprise banking and healthcare as a cloud engineer at BankUnited and Orange Care Group. Two of those are heavily regulated industries, which is where the habits on the Approach page come from: prove the risky part first, write down what you did, and hand it over so someone else can run it.
He spent six years at Google — four as a cloud customer engineer, then two as an account executive — which means he has sat on both sides of the table these projects get decided at. Work starts with what a business is actually trying to do, not with a stack, because he spent two years listening to the difference. STRUCTD exists to do that engineering directly, without the layers that usually sit between a client and the person building the thing.
A large share of that was generative AI specifically: building proofs of concept on Vertex AI with Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude models, and running hands-on workshops for lead architects on prompt engineering, model tuning, and retrieval-augmented generation. Most of it in finance and healthcare, where “it usually works” is not an acceptable answer — which is where the insistence on measuring a system rather than asserting it comes from.
